Lazio’s Ambitious Bid for Mauro Icardi: A Risky but Tempting Proposition

FolioPitch.com – 13 August 2026 | Lazio‘s ‘Crazy Idea’ for the Attack: Fabiani Contacts Mauro Icardi is a move that has sent shockwaves throughout the football world. The Italian outfit, under the guidance of Gennaro Gattuso, has been searching for a new striker to bolster their attack, but so far, they have come up empty-handed. The club’s sporting director, Angelo Fabiani, has reportedly made contact with Mauro Icardi’s entourage, in a bid to bring the Argentine striker back to Serie A.

Icardi, a 33-year-old free agent, has been without a club since the start of the summer. The former Galatasaray man has a reputation for being a prolific goal-scorer, with impressive statistics throughout his career. At Sampdoria, he netted 30 times in 39 appearances, while at Inter Milan, he scored 124 goals in 229 games. His time at Paris Saint-Germain was less successful, but he still managed to find the back of the net 38 times in 92 appearances.

However, Icardi’s career has not been without controversy. His departure from Inter Milan was marred by a locker-room incident sparked by his ex-wife and agent, Wanda Nara. The Argentine striker has also been linked to several other clubs, including Champions League outfits, but it seems that Lazio’s offer has piqued his interest.

So, can Lazio afford Icardi? The answer is a resounding no. The Italian outfit is operating under a tight budget, and bringing in a high-profile striker like Icardi would be a significant financial risk. Nevertheless, Fabiani believes that a return to Serie A could be a tempting proposition for the Argentine striker.

The ‘Crazy Idea’ for the Attack: Fabiani Contacts Mauro Icardi may seem like a long shot, but it’s an intriguing move that could pay dividends for both parties involved. If Lazio can convince Icardi to join them, it would be a major coup for the club, and a testament to Fabiani’s willingness to take risks. On the other hand, Icardi would be returning to his former home, and would have the opportunity to revive his career in a competitive league.

Only time will tell if Lazio’s ambitious bid for Icardi will come to fruition. One thing is certain, however – the ‘Crazy Idea’ for the Attack: Fabiani Contacts Mauro Icardi is a move that has captured the imagination of football fans around the world.
