Serginho’s Optimism Boosts Milan’s Scudetto Hopes

FolioPitch.com – 13 August 2026 | Serginho insists Milan have every chance in Scudetto race despite being a little behind. The Brazilian legend, who spent nine years at the San Siro between 1999 and 2008, believes the Rossoneri have what it takes to challenge for the title.

Serginho, who made 281 appearances for Milan and won eight major trophies, including two Champions League titles, thinks the current squad has the potential to make a deep run in the Scudetto race.

In a recent interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Serginho acknowledged that Milan are currently trailing behind Inter and Napoli, who finished several points ahead last season. However, he remains confident in the team’s ability to catch up and win the title.

‘Milan are a little behind Inter and Napoli, who finished several points ahead last year, but the Rossoneri have every chance of winning the title,’ Serginho said.

‘The technical staff made up of Amorim and his men want to prove their worth, and in addition, there are new signings who have the qualities to quickly integrate into this group. The contribution that the players returning from loans can make remains to be assessed.’

Serginho emphasized that Milan are a team with a strong predisposition to win in Italy and Europe, and that the new players need to quickly acquire the AC Milan DNA in order to make a significant impact.

‘In my opinion, Milan are a team that has everything it takes to be a protagonist and fight for the title until the end. Of course, the new players need to quickly acquire the AC Milan DNA.’

The Brazilian legend’s words of encouragement have likely boosted the morale of the Milan players and staff, and will serve as a reminder that the Scudetto is still within reach.

Serginho’s optimism is well-founded, given the team’s rich history and the talent at their disposal. With the right mindset and a bit of luck, Milan could well surprise their rivals and make a strong push for the title.

The road to the Scudetto will be challenging, but Serginho insists Milan have every chance in Scudetto race despite being a little behind.
