FolioPitch.com – 15 August 2026 | As the transfer window draws to a close, AC Milan are intensifying their search for a new wing-back to bolster their squad. The Rossoneri are in dire need of a player who can play on both flanks, given the impending departure of Pervis Estupinan and the loan move of Zachary Athekame to Lyon. With Alexis Saelemaekers and Davide Bartesaghi being the only remaining options for those roles, Milan’s scouts are scouring the market for a suitable replacement.
In this context, GdS Zalewski has emerged as the main candidate in Milan’s wing-back pursuit. The Atalanta man has the skillset to play on both flanks, which would allow Milan to have just three wing-backs in the team. This would also enable them to utilize Samuel Chukwueze in that role.
According to the latest edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are exploring various wing-back options, but Zalewski is the most promising lead. The price tag for the 24-year-old is reportedly around €15-20m, which would be within Milan’s reach. Additionally, his salary is also said to be manageable.
The same newspaper also mentions that Lazio’s Nuno Tavares is another target, but there are doubts about his fitness levels. Dodo, a player from Fiorentina, is also on Milan’s radar, but his future at the club is uncertain due to his contract expiring next season.
Milan’s idea is to sign a wing-back who can play on both flanks, allowing them to have a more flexible and dynamic defense. With Zalewski being the main candidate, it remains to be seen whether the Rossoneri can secure his signature before the transfer window closes.
The pursuit of Zalewski is a significant development in Milan’s transfer saga, and it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds in the coming days.
As the transfer market nears its conclusion, Milan’s supporters are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new wing-back to bolster their squad. With Zalewski being the main candidate, it’s likely that the Rossoneri will do everything in their power to secure his signature.
