Going into the match, AC Milan were desperate to close the gap on the leaders, while Venezia arrived in Milan with hopes of climbing out of the relegation zone. The opening stages were cautious, with both midfield units battling for control. Milan’s early pressure paid off when Rafael Leão, latching onto a through ball from Theo Hernández, slotted coolly past the Venezia goalkeeper in the 23rd minute. The goal came after a sustained period of possession and set the tone for a fast-paced affair.

Venezia, however, refused to shrink from the occasion. Their equalizer arrived in the 38th minute when a defensive lapse from Fikayo Tomori allowed Gianluca Busio to fire low into the corner. After the interval, Milan pushed forward with renewed vigor, but Venezia sat deep and looked dangerous on the counter. Christian Pulisic came close with a curling effort that struck the crossbar, and Tijjani Reijnders forced a fine save from the keeper. The introduction of Samuel Chukwueze added fresh legs to the right wing, and it was his driving run that led to the decisive moment in stoppage time. In the 94th minute, a scramble in the box saw substitute Divock Origi poke the ball over the line, sparking scenes of delirium among the San Siro faithful.

The final whistle confirmed Milan’s 2-1 victory, a result that lifts them to second place temporarily and keeps their title hopes alive. For Venezia, the defeat was a bitter pill to swallow, as they had shown tremendous spirit and organization for long stretches. The AC Milan vs Venezia Live updates and commentary from the Serie A clash underscored the unpredictable nature of Serie A, where every point matters.

In terms of tactics, Milan coach Stefano Pioli opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation, allowing his full-backs to push high and overload the flanks. Venezia coach Paolo Zanetti countered with a compact 5-3-2 setup, which frustrated Milan for much of the game. The statistics showed Milan dominating possession with 68%, but Venezia had the better chances early on. The Rossoneri’s persistence eventually paid off, but they were made to work exceptionally hard.

Player performances were key: Leão was a constant threat, while Mike Maignan made two crucial saves to keep Milan in the match. On the other side, Busio was influential in midfield, and the Venezia defense, led by Marco Modolo, held firm until the dying moments. The late goal will hurt, but there are positives to take from this spirited display.
