Serie A Cagliari vs Juventus Confirmed line-ups: Spalletti’s Injury-Hit Juventus Face High-Flying Cagliari

FolioPitch.com – 12 October 2026 | Serie A Cagliari vs Juventus Confirmed line-ups have been released ahead of Sunday evening’s highly anticipated Serie A clash at the Unipol Domus, where high-flying Cagliari host an injury-plagued Juventus side looking to close the gap at the top of the table.

Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus travel to Sardinia two points behind their hosts, who have enjoyed a remarkable start to the 2026-27 campaign. The Bianconeri enter the match on the back of a morale-boosting 2-0 victory over Atalanta in Serie A and a 5-0 demolition of NEC in the Europa League, results that helped restore confidence after a surprising 3-2 defeat to Sassuolo earlier in the month. However, Spalletti remains without several key players through injury, including Kenan Yildiz, Khephren Thuram, and Manuel Locatelli, forcing the coach to shuffle his pack.

In attack, Randal Kolo Muani retains his place at centre-forward after undergoing a minor surgical procedure on a fractured finger during the international break. The Frenchman has been passed fit and will lead the line. Tottenham Hotspur loanee Pape Matar Sarr has been brought into the starting XI at the expense of summer signing Kerim Alajbegovic, a change that brings a slight positional adjustment but sees Francisco Conceicao, Weston McKennie, and Nico Gonzalez keep their places in the side.

Defensively, Andrea Cambiaso returned to training over the international break after missing the last four matches with an ankle issue, but he starts on the bench behind Zeki Celik. The back three consists of Kalulu, Bremer, and Lucumí, shielding goalkeeper Vicario.

Cagliari, meanwhile, have been the surprise package of the season. Fabio Pisacane’s men have won four of their first five matches, including three consecutive victories over Lecce, Atalanta, and most recently Udinese before the break. They have conceded just two goals in the league so far, a defensive record that will give them confidence against a Juventus side still finding its rhythm under Spalletti.

The hosts also boast two Italy internationals in Alessandro Romano and Daniel Maldini. Romano made his senior debut for the Azzurri under Roberto Mancini during the September and October Nations League fixtures, while Maldini continues to grow into a key figure. Yanis Massolin, brought in on loan with an option to buy from Inter over the summer, has been handed his first ever Serie A appearance in the starting line-up, a testament to his impressive form in training.

The confirmed line-ups for Serie A Cagliari vs Juventus show both managers’ intentions. Cagliari set up in a 4-3-2-1 formation: Caprile in goal; Ze Pedro, Mina, Rodriguez, and Obert in defence; Adopo, Winks, and Romano in midfield; Massolin and Maldini supporting lone striker Mendy. Juventus line up in a 3-4-2-1: Vicario between the posts; Kalulu, Bremer, and Lucumí as the back three; Celik, Douglas Luiz, Sarr, and McKennie in midfield; Conceicao and Nico Gonzalez behind Kolo Muani.

This Serie A Cagliari vs Juventus Confirmed line-ups reveal a fascinating tactical battle. Cagliari’s compact midfield and attacking width through Massolin and Maldini could exploit Juventus’s wing-back positions, while the Bianconeri’s physical presence in midfield with Sarr and McKennie will aim to control the tempo. The absence of Locatelli and Thuram leaves Juventus lighter in the engine room, placing greater responsibility on Douglas Luiz to dictate play.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:45 BST at the Unipol Domus. A victory for Cagliari would extend their winning streak and keep them above Juventus, while a Juventus win would leapfrog them over their hosts and signal their intent to challenge for the Scudetto. With both sides eager to make a statement, this Serie A Cagliari vs Juventus Confirmed line-ups encounter promises to be a compelling contest.

In conclusion, the stage is set for a thrilling Serie A encounter in Sardinia. Cagliari’s remarkable form and defensive solidity face a stern test against a Juventus side desperate to overcome their injury woes and assert their title credentials. The confirmed line-ups suggest a tactical battle that could hinge on midfield control and the efficiency of the forwards. As the Serie A Cagliari vs Juventus Confirmed line-ups show, both teams have the tools to claim all three points, but only one will emerge victorious in this pivotal clash.
