FolioPitch.com – 15 October 2026 | Gian Piero Gasperini has acknowledged that Gasperini Roma fans waited years Real Madrid best in the world is the prevailing sentiment as the Giallorossi prepare to host Real Madrid in the Champions League at the Stadio Olimpico. The match marks Roma’s first Champions League home fixture in over seven years, and the atmosphere is expected to be electric. Gasperini, speaking to Amazon Prime Video Italia, said, “There were no doubts about the atmosphere, this type of match has been missing for too long from this stadium, and the fans have been waiting years for this moment.”

The coach emphasized that while the support will be immense, his team must focus on their own strengths. “It’ll feel like we have a 12th man on our side in the stands, but on the pitch, it is just 11 against 11. We have to count on our own strengths, so while the motivation and atmosphere is going to be incredible, we’ve got to make it count on the pitch.”

Real Madrid arrives with a squad brimming with talent, including Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe. Gasperini is fully aware of the threat they pose. “We are up against some of the best players in the world, and their pace is above all going to be a concern. We know all that, so we need to work well not just individually, but as a unit.” The phrase Gasperini Roma fans waited years Real Madrid best in the world perfectly captures the anticipation and respect surrounding this fixture.

Roma will be without key players Mile Svilar and Bryan Cristante due to injury, with Pierluigi Gollini and Marten de Roon stepping in. Additionally, Donyell Malen is suspended for the upcoming Serie A match against Genoa after his red card against Como, meaning he can focus entirely on this European clash. Gasperini noted, “We’ve got to try to take the game to Real Madrid, cause them problems, highlight some of their weaknesses and limit some of their many strengths.”

The match also carries special significance as it pits Gasperini against Jose Mourinho, a former Roma coach who won the Conference League and reached the Europa League Final with the club. Mourinho’s return adds another layer of intrigue to an already compelling narrative. However, Gasperini remains focused on his own team’s preparation and tactics.

Roma’s fans have indeed waited years for a night like this, and the coach’s comments reflect the importance of the occasion. Gasperini Roma fans waited years Real Madrid best in the world is not just a headline but a reality that both the team and supporters must embrace. The Stadio Olimpico will be rocking, but Gasperini knows that the outcome will be decided on the pitch.

In conclusion, Gasperini’s acknowledgment of the fans’ long wait and Real Madrid’s status as the best in the world sets the stage for a memorable Champions League encounter. Roma will need to harness the energy from the stands and deliver a disciplined, courageous performance to overcome the odds. As Gasperini said, the motivation and atmosphere will be incredible, but it’s the performance on the pitch that will ultimately make it count.
