Lazio Pre-Season Camp Begins at Formello with Full Squad Revealed

FolioPitch.com – 14 July 2026 | The Lazio pre-season camp begins at Formello full squad revealed on Monday morning, marking the official start of the biancocelesti’s preparations for the 2026-27 season. After medical check-ups last week, head coach Gennaro Gattuso led his players onto the training fields for a double session, the first of many as the team gears up for a demanding campaign that includes the Coppa Italia and Serie A.

As the Lazio pre-season camp begins at Formello full squad revealed, Gattuso faces the challenge of integrating new signings and covering key departures. The club has lost several important players during the summer transfer window, including goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, centre-backs Mario Gila and Alessio Romagnoli, and midfielder Toma Basic. Despite these exits, the squad that gathered on Monday reflects a blend of experience and youth, with several academy graduates and recent acquisitions joining the first-team group.

In goal, the absence of Provedel, who moved to Inter Milan, means Christos Mandas is poised to become the new No.1, with Edoardo Motta as backup. Alessio Furlanetto’s serious injury at the end of last season has paved the way for Davide Renzetti’s promotion, while 18-year-old Luigi D’Alessio is also in camp but expected to be loaned out. The Lazio pre-season camp begins at Formello full squad revealed also highlights a depleted centre-back department, with only Patric, Samuel Gigot, and Oliver Provstgaard as senior options. They are joined by youngsters Ricardo Bordon and Blaz Kovac, while the club works to sign reinforcements such as Sergi Dominguez and Danilho Doekhi.

Full-backs, however, are abundant. Nuno Tavares and new arrival Alfonso Pedraza compete on the left alongside Manuel Pellegrini, who might leave. On the right, Romano Floriani Mussolini returns from loan and will back up Adam Marusic, potentially pushing Manuel Lazzari out. Midfield options are limited due to Danilo Cataldi’s groin surgery and Basic’s departure. Nicolo Rovella and Kenneth Taylor are expected to anchor the midfield, with Reda Belahyane and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru aiming for more minutes. Youngsters Adrian Przyborek, Bruno Galassi, and Valerio Farcomeni are also in camp, though the latter two are unlikely to stay in the senior squad.

In attack, the squad has lost Pedro and Daniel Maldini, while Gustav Isaksen is recovering from surgery. The remaining forwards include Matteo Cancellieri, Boulaye Dia, Tijjani Noslin, Petar Ratkov, club captain Mattia Zaccagni, and Serie B standout Gabriele Artistico, alongside 20-year-old Federico Serra. The Lazio pre-season camp begins at Formello full squad revealed offers Gattuso a glimpse of his options, but more signings are expected before the transfer window closes.

Gattuso’s men will play six friendly matches against lower-tier opposition before their competitive debut on August 16 against Mantova in the Coppa Italia first round. The training camp at Formello will run intensively, with double sessions daily, as the coach evaluates his squad and implements his tactical philosophy. The Lazio pre-season camp begins at Formello full squad revealed thus sets the stage for what promises to be a transformative season for the Roman club.

In conclusion, while the squad departs from last season with significant changes, the foundation is laid for a competitive campaign. The coming weeks will be crucial for Gattuso to mould his team, integrate new arrivals, and address remaining gaps. Fans will be watching closely as the biancocelesti build towards the start of the season.
