AC Milan Eyes Former Manchester United Star and Brazilian Midfielder on Amorim’s Request

FolioPitch.com – 15 July 2026 | In the latest developments from the San Siro, AC Milan continues to reshape their squad under the guidance of new manager Ruben Amorim. The club is actively pursuing two key targets, including a former Manchester United player, as part of their summer transfer strategy. According to reports from Il Giornale, the Rossoneri are seeking reinforcements in defense and midfield, with Amorim personally requesting both acquisitions. This news underscores the club’s ambition to challenge for the Serie A title and make a mark in European competitions.

The Giornale Milan seeking former Man Utd player and target on Amorim s request the latest reveals that the primary defensive target is Noussair Mazraoui, the versatile full-back who previously played under Amorim at Manchester United. Mazraoui, a Moroccan international, impressed during the 2022 World Cup and has extensive experience in top-tier football. His ability to operate on both flanks makes him an ideal addition to Milan’s backline, which struggled with consistency last season. The Moroccan’s technical skills and tactical intelligence align perfectly with Amorim’s preferred system, and a move could be facilitated if the player expresses a desire to reunite with his former coach.

The club’s midfield plans also feature prominently in the Giornale Milan seeking former Man Utd player and target on Amorim s request the latest. Milan is reportedly eyeing Brazilian midfielder Ederson, who was a top target for Amorim during his tenure in the Premier League. The Atalanta star, known for his dynamic box-to-box play and creative passing, seemed destined for Manchester United this summer, but negotiations broke down. Now, Amorim sees an opportunity to bring Ederson to Milan, leveraging their prior relationship from their time together at Old Trafford. However, Atalanta have offered the player a contract extension, and Milan may need to offload some squad members to secure the necessary funds.

Both pursuits are tied to potential outgoing transfers. The Giornale Milan seeking former Man Utd player and target on Amorim s request the latest emphasizes that sales will be crucial to finance these moves. Players like Alexis Saelemaekers, Tommaso Pobega, or even Charles De Ketelaere could be sacrificed to generate revenue. Milan’s transfer strategy reflects Amorim’s clear vision for the squad, focusing on players who already know his methods and can implement his high-pressing, possession-based style.

Meanwhile, the Giornale Milan seeking former Man Utd player and target on Amorim s request the latest also notes that other targets, such as Manu Kone, have gone quiet, indicating that Milan is prioritizing Mazraoui and Ederson. The club’s hierarchy is fully backing Amorim, having already secured several early signings. The addition of these two players would significantly bolster the squad’s depth and quality, providing the new coach with the tools to meet his ambitious objectives.

In conclusion, AC Milan’s transfer window is alive with activity, driven by Amorim’s specific requests. The pursuit of Noussair Mazraoui and Ederson showcases the club’s intent to build a competitive team capable of dominating in Italy and beyond. If these deals materialize, it could mark a transformative summer for the Rossoneri, signaling a new era under Amorim’s leadership.
