Milan Revive Midfield Plans: CorSport Reveals Feasible Price Tag and Salary as Milan Initiate Talks with Danish Midfielder

FolioPitch.com – 20 July 2026 | In a move that could reshape their midfield dynamics, AC Milan have reportedly opened discussions with the representatives of Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. According to a recent report from Corriere dello Sport, as highlighted by SempreMilan, the Rossoneri are eyeing the Tottenham Hotspur player as a potential addition to bolster their defensive midfield options. The article, titled ‘CorSport Feasible price tag and salary Milan initiate talks with Danish midfielder,’ outlines a feasible financial package that fits within Milan’s budget.

The CorSport Feasible price tag and salary Milan initiate talks with Danish midfielder come at a time when manager Ruben Amorim is seeking a more robust defensive presence in the middle of the park. While Milan boast a deep midfield roster—including Adrien Rabiot, Luka Modric, Ardon Jashari, Riccardo Ricci, Filippo Comotto, Yunus Musah, Youssouf Fofana, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek—none of these players are primarily defensive-minded. Rabiot, known for his physicality and size, comes closest, but his game is more box-to-box than that of a pure shield for the backline.

Amorim, who has emphasized the need for a player capable of protecting the defense—especially when wing-backs push forward—has identified Højbjerg as an ideal candidate. The 30-year-old Dane, currently at Marseille, has extensive Premier League experience with Tottenham and Southampton, and his tenacity and positional awareness make him a sought-after asset. The report indicates that Marseille are willing to offload Højbjerg, and the CorSport Feasible price tag and salary Milan initiate talks with Danish midfielder suggest a deal is within reach.

According to the sources, the transfer fee is estimated at around €15 million, a sum that the Rossoneri consider feasible. Højbjerg’s current salary is approximately €3 million per season, which also aligns with Milan’s wage structure. This CorSport Feasible price tag and salary Milan initiate talks with Danish midfielder narrative has sparked optimism among fans, but there are hurdles to clear. Milan must first offload one or more midfielders from their congested squad. The likes of Rabiot, Modric, Jashari, Ricci, Comotto, Musah, Fofana, and Loftus-Cheek are all candidates for departure, as the club looks to streamline its roster.

The CorSport Feasible price tag and salary Milan initiate talks with Danish midfielder story underscores a strategic shift for Milan under Amorim. The Portuguese coach wants a dedicated defensive midfielder to add balance, especially after a season where the team conceded goals from counterattacks due to aggressive wing-back play. Højbjerg, with his experience in high-intensity leagues, could provide the necessary grit and leadership.

Milan’s midfield overhaul is likely to continue in the coming weeks. While the club has been linked with several players, the Højbjerg pursuit stands out due to the clarity of the financial terms. The CorSport Feasible price tag and salary Milan initiate talks with Danish midfielder have become a talking point among analysts, who see it as a smart investment given the player’s age and proven track record.

If the deal materializes, Højbjerg would join a squad that already features strong attacking talents but lacks a natural anchor. His ability to break up play and distribute quickly could free up more creative players like Modric or Loftus-Cheek. However, the move hinges on reducing the current midfield block, which may require negotiations with other clubs.

In conclusion, the CorSport Feasible price tag and salary Milan initiate talks with Danish midfielder represent a calculated step by Milan to address a tactical void. With a reasonable fee and salary, Højbjerg could be the missing piece in Amorim’s system. Fans will be watching closely as the transfer window progresses, hoping that the Rossoneri can finalize this pragmatic deal.
