Capello’s Frustration: AC Milan’s Identity Crisis

FolioPitch.com – 11 August 2026 | Need an Italian soul Capello frustrated by current Milan squad with identity missing. The debate has been ongoing for years – has AC Milan lost its traditional soul? Fabio Capello thinks so, and it’s not just a matter of nostalgia. The former manager believes that the club has strayed too far from its Italian roots, and it’s affecting the team’s performance on the pitch.

Capello’s comments come at a time when AC Milan is undergoing significant changes. The team has brought in new players, and the coaching staff is also undergoing a shakeup. However, despite these changes, the team still seems to be lacking a clear identity.

According to Capello, the problem lies in the lack of a clear philosophy. ‘There’s a world of difference between philosophy and practice,’ he said. ‘High pressing, an attacking spirit, and the will to dominate are concepts that require predisposition and months of work.’

Capello is not alone in his concerns. Many fans and pundits have been questioning the team’s direction, and it’s clear that something needs to change. The team’s current squad lacks the cohesion and chemistry that was once a hallmark of AC Milan’s teams.

The situation is further complicated by the uncertainty surrounding key players like Rafael Leao. His future at the club is uncertain, and it’s unclear whether he will stay or leave. This uncertainty is affecting the team’s morale and performance, and it’s something that needs to be addressed.

The meeting between Gerry Cardinale and Ruben Amorim is seen as a crucial moment in the team’s rebuilding process. The two men need to work together to create a clear plan and vision for the team. This will involve making tough decisions and taking a long-term view.

Capello’s frustration is understandable. He has seen what works in Serie A with AC Milan, and he knows that the team needs to get back to its roots. The ‘Italian soul’ that Capello is talking about is not just a nostalgic notion – it’s a winning formula that has been successful in the past.

The question now is whether the team can get back to its winning ways. With the right leadership and a clear plan, it’s possible that AC Milan can regain its identity and become a force to be reckoned with in Serie A.

However, it’s not going to be easy. The team faces stiff competition from other clubs, and the pressure to deliver is intense. But with Capello’s guidance and the team’s determination, anything is possible.

In the end, the future of AC Milan will depend on the decisions made by the team’s leaders. Will they choose to stick with the status quo or take a bold step towards regaining their Italian soul? Only time will tell.
