FolioPitch.com – 03 August 2026 | Diaby re-emerges for Inter as Chivu searches for a Dumfries replacement, a move that has been gaining traction in recent weeks. The departure of Denzel Dumfries to Real Madrid has left a void in the Nerazzurri’s lineup, and the club is actively seeking a suitable replacement. Inter’s coach, Cristian Chivu, has expressed the need to add at least one more player out wide, and Diaby’s name has resurfaced as a potential target.

Diaby re-emerges for Inter as Chivu searches for a Dumfries replacement, with the club considering various options to strengthen their wing-back position. Chivu has stated that the team is still missing a player on the left, and Diaby’s versatility and skillset make him an attractive candidate. The former Aston Villa winger has also been linked with a move to San Siro during the January transfer window, with reports suggesting that Inter were exploring a potential loan with an option or obligation to buy for a fee in the region of €35m.

However, Diaby re-emerges for Inter as Chivu searches for a Dumfries replacement, and the transfer fee is not the biggest concern for the club. Convincing the player to take a significant cut on his monstrous salary, which reportedly exceeds €20m, might be a more significant challenge. Diaby’s current salary with Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League is a major obstacle, and Inter will need to negotiate a deal that meets the player’s expectations while also being mindful of their own financial constraints.

As Diaby re-emerges for Inter as Chivu searches for a Dumfries replacement, the club is also exploring other options to bolster their squad. Inter have already brought in John Stones, Ivan Provedel, and Aleksandar Stankovic, and they are still reportedly targeting the signing of Tottenham’s Cristian Romero. The club’s transfer activity is expected to continue in the coming weeks, and Diaby’s potential move to San Siro will be closely monitored by fans and pundits alike.

In conclusion, Diaby re-emerges for Inter as Chivu searches for a Dumfries replacement, and the club’s pursuit of the player is a testament to their ambition and desire to strengthen their squad. While there are challenges to be overcome, the potential signing of Diaby would be a significant coup for Inter, and it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds in the coming weeks.
