Italy 3-1 Turkey: Scamacca Shines as Doumbia and Vergara Impress in Convincing Azzurri Win

FolioPitch.com – 06 October 2026 | In a compelling display at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy secured a 3-1 victory over Turkey, a result that guarantees them a seeded spot for the Euro 2028 draw and moves them one point clear of Belgium ahead of November’s clashes with France and Belgium. Roberto Mancini rotated heavily, retaining only goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and defender Alessandro Bastoni from the previous starting XI. This led to a somewhat disjointed performance, but Italy still managed to secure a comfortable win. Gianluca Scamacca made the difference with a powerful strike for the opener, despite looking less polished in possession than young Pio Esposito, who scored Italy’s third goal.

With the Euro 2028 draw seeding secured, Italy can now focus on building a squad capable of challenging for major honors.
