Amorim’s Men Get Boost as Maignan and Rabiot Prepare for Training Return

FolioPitch.com – 10 August 2026 | AC Milan‘s pre-season has been underwhelming so far, with two draws and one defeat on the board. The team’s inability to register a single shot on target in their last game against Chelsea has left fans frustrated. However, the arrival of Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot for training is likely to be a significant boost for Ruben Amorim.

Maignan and Rabiot, who were on extended holidays due to their World Cup adventure, will join the team at Milanello on Wednesday. This is a crucial moment for Amorim, as heading into the season with no win would be far from ideal, especially with a tough opening game against Torino scheduled.

The duo is expected to bring much-needed experience and leadership to the team. Their return will also give Amorim the opportunity to test different formations and strategies, which could lead to a more cohesive team identity. Milan’s fans will be eagerly waiting to see how the team performs in their upcoming friendly against Manchester United.

Amorim’s decision to test a lot of players during the pre-season games has been a double-edged sword. On one hand, it has given him valuable insights into the team’s strengths and weaknesses. On the other hand, it has raised questions about the team’s overall cohesion and strategy. With Maignan and Rabiot back in the fold, Amorim will be hoping to create a more balanced team that can compete with the best.

The team’s next friendly against Manchester United will be a crucial test of their abilities. Amorim will be looking to create a starting eleven that is closer to the 2026-27 starting eleven. With Maignan and Rabiot’s experience and leadership on board, the team’s chances of success look brighter.
