Chivu Prioritizes Inter’s Collective Effort Over Individual Results

FolioPitch.com – 05 August 2026 | Cristian Chivu, the head coach of Inter, has emphasized the importance of the team’s work ethic over their current results. Speaking after their 1-1 draw with AC Milan in a friendly match, Chivu highlighted the need for his players to prioritize their fitness levels and adhere to their tactical principles.

Inter had a strong start to the match, taking the lead through a well-worked move involving Federico Dimarco. However, they were unable to maintain their advantage, as a soft penalty awarded to Milan allowed the visitors to secure a draw. Chivu was pleased with the quality of his team’s performance, citing the need for them to be sharper and more clinical in their finishing.

The coach also expressed concern over the injury sustained by Yann Bisseck, who received a nasty knock to the back of the head in a collision with Milan defender Pervis Estupinan. Bisseck was substituted and did not participate in the post-match media duties.

Chivu emphasized that the results are not as important as the work his team is doing at this moment. He believes that the players are improving with each passing match and that the team is on the right track. The coach also highlighted the need for his players to be more cautious in their approach, particularly in situations where they are playing out from the back.

With their next match approaching, Chivu will be looking for his team to build on the positives from their performance against Milan. He will also be keeping a close eye on the fitness levels of his players, particularly after the injury to Bisseck. As the team continues to work towards their goals, Chivu’s emphasis on collective effort and tactical discipline will be crucial in determining their success.

In conclusion, Chivu’s focus on Inter’s collective effort over individual results is a positive development for the team. By prioritizing their work ethic and tactical principles, they can build a strong foundation for success in the coming season.
