Milan’s Dilemma: To Keep or Loan Out Young Talent Alphadjo Cisse?

FolioPitch.com – 30 July 2026 | AC Milan faces a critical crossroads this summer regarding the future of young midfielder Alphadjo Cisse, and the situation is far from straightforward. The brilliant performances he delivered during his loan spell at Catanzaro in Serie B have elevated expectations, yet his lack of game time since February—due to a combination of injury and squad rotation—has complicated matters. The Rossoneri must now weigh the risk of stunting his development against the potential reward of integrating him into the first team.

Manager Sergio Conceicao is reportedly monitoring Cisse closely, especially given the competition for places in attack. With Christopher Nkunku, Christian Pulisic, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek vying for spots behind striker Goncalo Ramos, there is a potential opening for Cisse in a rotational role. However, the club is torn: a loan move could guarantee regular minutes, but keeping him allows for immediate assessment.
