Sears Brace Powers Louisville to Second Straight Win in Thrilling Matchup

FolioPitch.com – 08 August 2026 | It was a night to remember for Racing Louisville as they secured their second consecutive win with a 3-1 victory over Orlando Pride on Friday. The match was marked by a stunning performance from forward Emma Sears, who netted a brace in the 68th and 86th minutes to seal the win.

Sears, a regular on the U.S. women’s national team, has been in scorching form, and her goals were assisted by Racing veteran Lauren Milliet. The 10-goal haul from Sears last season is still a benchmark she’s striving to reach this year, and her current four goals have given the team a much-needed boost in their quest for a playoff spot.

Audrey McKeen, the 17-year-old rookie forward, got the visitors off to a flying start with her first professional goal in the 16th minute, heading in Katie O’Kane’s corner kick. The goal marked a significant milestone for McKeen, who became the youngest goalscorer in franchise history.

Racing Louisville’s current winning run is a testament to their resilience and determination to turn their season around. With 17 points on the board, they find themselves in second-to-last place in the standings. However, the team in the last playoff spot has just 23 points, leaving room for Racing to make a significant push for a playoff spot.

The match was a far cry from Orlando’s 5-0 drubbing at the hands of the North Carolina Courage last week, and they will be looking to regroup and bounce back in their next fixture.

In conclusion, Sears’ brace powers Louisville to second straight win in a thrilling matchup that showcased the team’s potential and determination to succeed. With Sears leading the charge, Racing Louisville will be eager to build on this momentum and make a serious push for a playoff spot.
