AC Milan Reignite Interest in Breel Embolo: What’s Next for the Rossoneri?

FolioPitch.com – 07 August 2026 | AC Milan have reignited their interest in Breel Embolo, with the Swiss striker once again atop their wishlist as they seek to bolster their attacking options. According to recent reports, CM Milan begin Embolo discussions again the asking price and what is needed first, with the player’s agent already engaged in initial talks with the Italian giants.

Embolo, who starred in the recent World Cup with his national team, has been a subject of interest for several Italian clubs, including Juventus and Roma, in recent years. The 1997-born striker enjoyed a productive season with Rennes in Ligue 1, racking up eight goals and three assists in 31 games. However, it’s now AC Milan and Napoli who are leading the charge in pursuit of the former Monchengladbach star.

The mercato spotlight is once again on Embolo, with AC Milan and Napoli must keep an eye on foreign competition, as Bournemouth are also interested in the player’s services. The Premier League would be a desirable destination for Embolo, who has been open to a possible move to Italy. However, before making a concrete offer, both Milan and Napoli must first resolve some issues in attack.

The main concerns for the Rossoneri are the futures of Rafael Leão and Romelu Lukaku, respectively. AC Milan have yet to receive any offers deemed worthy for the former, which is valued at around €50m. There is also the Santiago Gimenez situation to resolve, with the Mexican striker strongly linked with Porto and Lazio in recent days. If he were to depart, the need to sign a more experienced back-up striker could arise.

Given the current situation, it’s clear that AC Milan begin Embolo discussions again the asking price and what is needed first. With the player’s agent already engaged in talks, it’s likely that the two parties will meet in the coming days to discuss the potential transfer and the asking price of around €15m. AC Milan must move swiftly to secure Embolo’s services before foreign competition becomes too intense.

Ultimately, the success of AC Milan’s pursuit of Embolo will depend on their ability to resolve the issues in attack and meet the player’s valuation. If they can do so, it could be a shrewd signing that bolsters their attacking options and helps the Rossoneri compete with the best teams in Serie A.

But for now, it’s a waiting game for AC Milan as they await the outcome of their talks with Embolo’s agent. Will they be able to secure the services of the Swiss striker, or will foreign competition get in the way? Only time will tell.
