Provedel Debuts as Inter Unleash Esposito and Thuram Against Fiorentina in Serie A Clash

FolioPitch.com – 25 October 2026 | Ivan Provedel makes his Inter debut between the posts as the Serie A official line-ups Inter vs Fiorentina confirm a bold attacking approach from Cristian Chivu, with Francesco Pio Esposito and Marcus Thuram leading the line at the Stadio Meazza in San Siro. The Nerazzurri host the Tuscans in a 12:30 CET kick-off knowing that only a victory will allow them to catch Lazio at the top of the Serie A table after the Biancocelesti secured a 2-1 win over Parma on Saturday night.

The Serie A official line-ups Inter vs Fiorentina reveal a heavily reshuffled Inter side, with Provedel replacing Josep Martinez in goal and Federico Dimarco rested, meaning Carlos Augusto starts on the left wing. The Brazilian has been in fine form this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in eight games across all competitions. Andy Diouf returns to the starting XI at right midfield, pushing Djed Spence to the bench, while Yann Bisseck, Manuel Akanji and Alessandro Bastoni form the back three.

Inter’s injury list remains a concern for Chivu, with John Stones, Curtis Jones, Lautaro Martinez, Benjamin Pavard and Luis Henrique all unavailable. Fiorentina, meanwhile, have travelled to Milan without Fabiano Parisi, Arthur Atta and Luca Ranieri. The Serie A official line-ups Inter vs Fiorentina show Paolo Vanoli opting for a 4-3-3 system, with David De Gea in goal behind a defence of Jimenez, Dragusin, Pongracic and Valdepenas. Marco Brescianini joins Cher Ndour and Nicolò Fagioli in central midfield, while Mateo Pellegrino leads the attack alongside Mastantuono and Njie.

The match represents a significant opportunity for Esposito, the young forward handed a rare start in place of the injured Lautaro Martinez. Thuram’s presence alongside him offers experience and physicality, while the midfield trio of Barella, Calhanoglu and Mkhitaryan provides the creative platform. The Serie A official line-ups Inter vs Fiorentina confirm that Inter remain unbeaten in Serie A this season, with six wins and one draw, though they have lost three of their last five games in all competitions.

For Fiorentina, the attacking trio of Mastantuono, Pellegrino and Njie will look to exploit any uncertainty in an Inter defence missing key personnel. Pellegrino’s physical presence and Mastantuono’s creativity could cause problems for a back three still adjusting to the absence of Pavard. The Serie A official line-ups Inter vs Fiorentina highlight the tactical battle between Chivu’s 3-5-2 and Vanoli’s 4-3-3, with midfield control likely to prove decisive.

Inter’s need for three points is acute. With Lazio setting the pace at the summit, any slip-up could prove costly in the title race. The Serie A official line-ups Inter vs Fiorentina underline the stakes: Provedel must justify his selection, Esposito must seize his chance, and the Nerazzurri must rediscover the consistency that has eluded them in recent weeks. Fiorentina, meanwhile, will fancy their chances of springing a surprise at San Siro, with De Gea’s experience and Pellegrino’s sharpness offering a genuine threat.

As the teams emerge at the Stadio Meazza, all eyes will be on Provedel’s debut and Esposito’s partnership with Thuram. The Serie A official line-ups Inter vs Fiorentina have set the stage for a fascinating encounter, one that could shape the trajectory of both clubs’ seasons. For Inter, victory is non-negotiable; for Fiorentina, an upset would resonate far beyond Milan. The scene is set, the line-ups are confirmed, and the Serie A title race awaits its next twist.
