Serie A Official Line-ups Napoli vs Roma: De Bruyne Deep Role, Malen Returns in Scudetto Showdown

FolioPitch.com – 24 October 2026 | The Serie A official line-ups Napoli vs Roma have been confirmed for Saturday evening’s Scudetto showdown at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, with both managers forced into significant adjustments due to injuries and form concerns. Napoli, desperate to get their season back on track after a dismal run, host a Roma side eager to end a barren spell against their southern rivals.

Napoli boss Massimiliano Allegri has named Alex Meret in goal despite reports that Vanja Milinkovic-Savic could be preferred. The defense consists of Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Rafa Marin, Benoit Badiashile, and Mathias Olivera. In midfield, Frank Anguissa and Scott McTominay are joined by Kevin De Bruyne, who is again deployed in a deeper role that he is not fond of. Up front, Matteo Politano, Rasmus Hojlund, and Noa Lang lead the attack. The Serie A official line-ups Napoli vs Roma reveal that Amir Rrahmani is absent due to flu symptoms, while Alisson Santos, David Neres, Costantino Favasuli, and Alessandro Buongiorno remain sidelined.

Roma coach Daniele De Rossi has handed a return to Donyell Malen after suspension, with the Dutchman starting alongside Matias Soule in attack. Pierluigi Gollini starts in goal, behind a back three of Gianluca Mancini, Evan Ndicka, and Mario Hermoso. Wesley and Devyne Rensch operate as wing-backs, with Bryan Cristante, Marten de Roon, and Niccolo Pisilli in midfield. The Serie A official line-ups Napoli vs Roma also show that Lorenzo Pellegrini, Paulo Dybala, Manu Kone, and Mile Svilar are unavailable through injury, but Cristante returns after a month out.

The match kicks off at 17.00 UK time (18.00 CEST) and is a crucial test for both sides. Napoli’s recent form has been alarming—a 3-1 defeat to rock-bottom Venezia was followed by a chaotic 4-3 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League. Allegri will hope the Serie A official line-ups Napoli vs Roma can spark a revival, with De Bruyne’s adaptation to a deeper midfield role under scrutiny. Roma, meanwhile, have not beaten Napoli since December 2023 and have struggled at the Maradona, with their last win there coming in 2018.

The Serie A official line-ups Napoli vs Roma highlight the tactical battle in midfield, where De Bruyne’s creativity will be pitted against Roma’s industrious trio. Napoli’s attacking trident of Politano, Hojlund, and Lang will look to exploit a Roma defense that is missing key personnel. The game promises to be a tense affair, with both teams desperate for points in the race for European qualification.

As the teams walk out at the Diego Armando Maradona, all eyes will be on whether Napoli can rediscover their form and whether Roma can finally end their hoodoo in Naples. The Serie A official line-ups Napoli vs Roma set the stage for what could be a defining moment in both clubs’ seasons.

In conclusion, the confirmed Serie A official line-ups Napoli vs Roma reflect the challenges both managers face, with injuries and tactical decisions shaping the contest. Napoli’s need for a win is dire, while Roma’s desire to break their drought in Naples is equally strong. The match is sure to deliver drama and intrigue as two of Italy’s most storied clubs go head-to-head.
