FolioPitch.com – 04 August 2026 | The Italian Serie A outfit Frosinone is reportedly on the cusp of securing the services of Burnley striker Andreas Hountondji, a Benin international.
According to reputable transfer reporters Nicolò Schira and Gianluigi Longari, the negotiations between Frosinone and Burnley are at an advanced stage and could be concluded within the next few days.
Hountondji, who was on loan at St. Pauli in Germany, has been a subject of interest for Frosinone, and it appears that the deal could become a reality soon.
Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are eager to offload Hountondji, who was purchased from Caen in 2024 for €4m. The striker made only 10 appearances for Burnley in all competitions before being sent on loan to Standard Liege and then St. Pauli.
Hountondji’s contract runs until June 2028, and Burnley are willing to accept a loan deal with an option to buy, which would become an obligation if Frosinone manage to stay in Serie A.
Last season, Hountondji scored four goals in 23 appearances for St. Pauli, having netted four goals in 18 games for Standard Liege the previous campaign.
If the deal is completed, Hountondji would become the latest addition to Frosinone’s squad, who are looking to strengthen their team ahead of the new season.
The Serie A outfit has been active in the transfer market, and the signing of Hountondji would be a significant boost to their squad.
Hountondji’s arrival at Frosinone would also be a significant coup for the Italian club, who are looking to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in Serie A.
The deal is expected to be concluded soon, and fans of both Frosinone and Burnley will be eagerly waiting to see if the negotiations are successful.
