Fiorentina Eye Lazio Winger Isaksen Despite Injury Setback

FolioPitch.com – 14 July 2026 | Fiorentina have made an enquiry about Lazio winger Gustav Isaksen, who is considered a key component of Gennaro Gattuso‘s tactical plans at the Biancoceleste. The Italian club’s interest comes at a time when Isaksen is recovering from groin surgery, making a summer move unlikely but not entirely off the table. The Fiorentina Enquire About Lazio Winger Considered Key to Gattuso s Plan has sparked speculation about potential squad reshuffling between the two Serie A sides.

Isaksen joined Lazio in 2023 and has experienced a rollercoaster tenure, marked by intermittent injuries and competition for a starting spot. Last season, he vied with Matteo Cancellieri for the right-wing role, but Gattuso reportedly favors the Danish international’s pace and directness. Despite his injury, Isaksen’s technical abilities and tactical understanding make him a valuable asset for Lazio, and the Fiorentina Enquire About Lazio Winger Considered Key to Gattuso s Plan underscores the player’s standing in the league.

According to Italian outlet La Nazione, Fiorentina sporting director Fabio Paratici is actively seeking attacking reinforcements and has identified Isaksen as a potential target. Paratici has also monitored other wingers, including Paris FC’s Luca Koleosho, RB Leipzig’s Johan Bakayoko, Napoli’s Noa Lang, and Juventus’ Edon Zhegrova. The Fiorentina Enquire About Lazio Winger Considered Key to Gattuso s Plan highlights the Viola’s ambition to add depth and creativity to their forward line ahead of the new season.

The two clubs have already been linked in several transfer narratives this summer. Fiorentina striker Roberto Piccoli is Lazio’s primary attacking target, while young defender Pieto Comuzzo has been rumored to move to the Italian capital. On the flip side, Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas has been mentioned as a potential replacement if David De Gea departs Florence. This interconnectedness suggests that the Fiorentina Enquire About Lazio Winger Considered Key to Gattuso s Plan could be part of broader negotiations between the two sides.

However, any move for Isaksen faces significant obstacles. The 25-year-old recently underwent surgery for a groin injury after conservative treatment failed, forcing him to miss pre-season preparations for the second consecutive summer (last year it was due to mononucleosis). Recovery is expected to keep him sidelined for several weeks, reducing his immediate availability. Consequently, Lazio are unlikely to part with a player they view as integral to Gattuso’s plans, especially while he is recovering.

In conclusion, while Fiorentina’s enquiry demonstrates their proactive approach in the transfer market, the practicalities of Isaksen’s injury and Lazio’s reliance on him make a transfer this summer improbable. The situation may evolve if the player’s recovery accelerates or if Lazio secure a replacement, but for now, the Fiorentina Enquire About Lazio Winger Considered Key to Gattuso s Plan remains a speculative interest rather than an imminent deal. Fans of both clubs will watch closely as the summer window progresses.
