Fiorentina Target Thorstvedt Reunion: Meeting Scheduled with Sassuolo as €15m Asking Price Revealed

FolioPitch.com – 02 July 2026 | Fiorentina meet for Thorstvedt as Sassuolo set 15m asking price, with the Viola eager to reunite the Norwegian midfielder with their new coach Fabio Grosso. The two clubs are scheduled to hold talks on Friday, according to Sky Sport Italia and Tuttomercatoweb, as Fiorentina look to bolster their midfield ahead of the new Serie A season.

Kristian Thorstvedt, a Norway international currently preparing for the World Cup Round of 16 clash against Brazil, has flourished under Grosso at Sassuolo. With Grosso now at the helm in Florence, a reunion appears increasingly likely. The 26-year-old’s dynamic playing style and goal-scoring ability from midfield have made him a key target for the Viola.

Fiorentina meet for Thorstvedt as Sassuolo set 15m asking price, but the deal could be structured to lower the cash outlay. The Viola are reportedly considering including Simon Sohm in the negotiations. Sohm, a Swiss midfielder, recently returned to Florence after a loan spell at Bologna. His inclusion could reduce the transfer fee significantly.

Fabio Paratici, Fiorentina’s sporting director, has already met with the player’s agent to discuss personal terms, indicating strong interest. However, a formal agreement between the clubs remains the final hurdle. The €15 million valuation is considered reasonable given Thorstvedt’s recent form and potential resale value, but Fiorentina hope to negotiate a lower fee or a structured payment plan.

Thorstvedt played a crucial role in Sassuolo’s campaign last season, contributing both goals and assists from midfield. His physical presence and tactical intelligence make him an ideal fit for Grosso’s system. Besiktas have also shown interest, but Fiorentina’s relationship with Grosso could give them an edge.

The meeting on Friday represents a critical step in the transfer process. Fiorentina meet for Thorstvedt as Sassuolo set 15m asking price, and both sides are optimistic that a deal can be reached. The outcome will depend on Sassuolo’s willingness to accept a player-plus-cash offer. If successful, Thorstvedt will become the centerpiece of Fiorentina’s midfield rebuild.

In conclusion, the move is a logical step for both clubs. Sassuolo can recoup funds while Fiorentina gain a proven Serie A talent. With the World Cup ongoing, the transfer may accelerate once Norway’s campaign ends. The Viola faithful will be watching closely as the saga unfolds.
