Genoa Make Move for Veteran Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

FolioPitch.com – 02 July 2026 | In a surprising development, the report Aubameyang approached by Genoa for intriguing transfer has emerged from Italian transfer expert Matteo Moretto. The veteran striker, currently at Olympique Marseille, has been informed that he is free to seek a new club despite having a contract until June 2027. The 37-year-old Gabon international celebrated his birthday just weeks ago, but his performances on the pitch remain at a high level, with 14 goals and 10 assists in 41 competitive games last season.

This report Aubameyang approached by Genoa for intriguing transfer highlights the potential move as a major coup for the Serie A side, who are rebuilding under coach Daniele De Rossi after a comfortable mid-table finish last season. Aubameyang, who has never played in Serie A, has a rich history with Italian football, having spent time in the Milan youth academy from January 2007 to 2012. Although he never made a senior appearance for the Rossoneri, loans to Dijon, Lille, AS Monaco, and Saint-Etienne shaped his early career.

The report Aubameyang approached by Genoa for intriguing transfer also underscores the striker’s enduring quality, as he continues to fire on all cylinders. His journey from Arsenal to Barcelona, then Chelsea, and a stint in Saudi Arabia with Al-Qadsiah before joining Marseille as a free agent last summer, showcases a career of constant adaptation. Now, Genoa sees an opportunity to bring his experience and goal-scoring prowess to the Marassi.

According to Moretto, Genoa’s approach is still in the exploratory phase, but it signals a clear intent to strengthen their attack. The Grifone are eager to improve on their 11th-place finish, and a player of Aubameyang’s calibre could be the difference-maker. While his age might raise eyebrows, his recent statistics suggest he has plenty left to offer. The report Aubameyang approached by Genoa for intriguing transfer will likely develop further as negotiations progress.

Aubameyang’s versatility and leadership could be invaluable to a Genoa squad that thrives on tactical discipline. De Rossi, a former Roma legend, is known for his demanding style, and Aubameyang’s professionalism could mesh well. The forward’s experience in top European leagues—from the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund to the Premier League with Arsenal and Chelsea—provides a wealth of knowledge for younger teammates.

From a financial perspective, the move would require Marseille to offload part of Aubameyang’s wages, but with his contract running until 2027, a loan or permanent transfer could be structured. The report Aubameyang approached by Genoa for intriguing transfer has already sparked excitement among fans, who remember his exploits in the Champions League and his Golden Boot award in the Premier League. If completed, it would be one of the most intriguing signings of the Serie A summer window.

In conclusion, the report Aubameyang approached by Genoa for intriguing transfer represents a fascinating potential move for both parties. For Genoa, it offers a proven scorer who can immediately impact their campaign. For Aubameyang, it provides a chance to return to Italy, where his professional journey began. While no deal is imminent, the initial approach sets the stage for what could be a headline-grabbing transfer in the coming weeks.
