Inter Secure Lazio Goalkeeper Ivan Provedel for €3 Million After Successful Medical

FolioPitch.com – 08 July 2026 | Provedel has Inter medical ahead of 3m transfer from Lazio, as confirmed by multiple reports on Wednesday. The 32-year-old goalkeeper underwent his medical examination at the Humanitas clinic in Rozzano, paving the way for a move to the Serie A champions.

Inter Milan have been actively searching for a new goalkeeper following the departure of veteran Yann Sommer, who left on a free transfer at the end of June. Although the Nerazzurri initially targeted Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario, his €20 million price tag proved prohibitive, prompting a shift in strategy. Instead, they turned to the experienced Provedel, who arrives for a modest €3 million fee.

Provedel has Inter medical ahead of 3m transfer from Lazio, and the deal is expected to be finalized once the medical is complete. The former Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year will sign a three-year contract, providing competition for Josep Martinez, who is tipped to assume the starting role. Provedel’s arrival marks Inter’s second signing under new coach Cristian Chivu, following the acquisition of Aleksandar Stankovic from Club Brugge.

Provedel, who spent the last two seasons with Lazio, made 71 appearances for the Biancocelesti, earning a reputation for reliability and shot-stopping prowess. His experience in Serie A and European competitions will be invaluable for Inter as they aim to defend their domestic double and compete on multiple fronts. The move also allows Lazio to recoup a fee for a player entering the final year of his contract.

In summary, Provedel has Inter medical ahead of 3m transfer from Lazio, and the deal underscores Inter’s shrewd approach to the transfer market this summer. By securing a quality backup at a bargain price, they have reinforced their squad depth without breaking the bank. Provedel’s professionalism and experience make him a solid addition to the Nerazzurri ranks.
