Sampdoria Dream Duo: Ex-Milan Coach Targets Camarda and Insigne

FolioPitch.com – 14 July 2026 | In a surprise twist that has captured the attention of Italian football, the Repubblica Ex-Milan coach targeting dream moves for Camarda and Insigne at Sampdoria is no longer just a rumor. According to reports from La Repubblica, Sampdoria are plotting an ambitious attacking partnership that would pair former Milan wonderkid Francesco Camarda with Napoli legend Lorenzo Insigne. The Serie B side, aiming for an immediate return to Serie A, sees this duo as the key to promotion.

The Repubblica Ex-Milan coach targeting dream moves for Camarda and Insigne at Sampdoria narrative stems from Sampdoria’s new sporting direction under head coach Bernardo Corradi, who previously spent nine years managing Italy’s youth national teams and served on Massimiliano Allegri’s staff at Milan last season. Corradi’s familiarity with Camarda from Milan’s youth setup makes him a natural advocate for the teenager’s development.

Camarda, 16, is considered one of Italy’s brightest prospects but has struggled for playing time at Milan. A loan move to Sampdoria could provide the consistency he needs, as suggested by former Milan coach Massimo Oddo. ‘Francesco should do what he should have done a year ago: join a top-tier Serie B team that plays to win,’ Oddo said. ‘Last year he called me to ask about Lecce, and I told him he’d made a mistake.’

Insigne, 33, left Napoli for Toronto FC in 2022 but has expressed a desire to return to Italy. Sampdoria see him as a veteran leader to spearhead their promotion push. The Repubblica Ex-Milan coach targeting dream moves for Camarda and Insigne at Sampdoria plan would pair Insigne’s creativity with Camarda’s raw talent, creating a frontline that could dominate Serie B.

However, obstacles remain. Milan must decide whether to loan Camarda, and Insigne’s high wages could be a stumbling block. Sampdoria have identified an alternative: Matteo Brunori, who spent the second half of last season on loan at the club. But the dream remains the Camarda-Insigne partnership.

Oddo’s comments highlight the risk of rushing young players. ‘Di Francesco is excellent, but Lecce plays to stay up, mostly in their own half, and that’s tough for a striker,’ he said. Sampdoria, under Corradi, play a more attacking style that could suit Camarda. The Repubblica Ex-Milan coach targeting dream moves for Camarda and Insigne at Sampdoria story continues to evolve, with fans eagerly awaiting developments.

For now, Sampdoria’s management is exploring all options. The club’s ambition is clear: assemble a team capable of winning Serie B and returning to the top flight. If they succeed in landing both Camarda and Insigne, it would be a statement of intent that echoes across Italian football.
