Sassuolo Set to Secure Kieron Bowie Signing Amidst Serie A Interest

FolioPitch.com – 27 July 2026 | Sassuolo ready to win Bowie transfer battle with Cagliari Bologna and Celtic, as the Neroverdi prepare a decisive move to sign Hellas Verona striker Kieron Bowie. The Scottish forward, who joined Verona from Hibernian in January 2026 for €6 million, has attracted significant interest after a strong showing in Serie A, despite his club’s relegation to Serie B.

According to sources close to the negotiations, Sassuolo are leading the race for the 22-year-old, with a meeting scheduled for Tuesday to finalize details. The asking price is believed to be between €9 million and €10 million plus performance-related add-ons. An ace up Sassuolo’s sleeve is the potential inclusion of striker Samuele Mulattieri, who could move the other way to Verona. Mulattieri, a product of Inter’s youth academy, joined Sassuolo in 2023 and spent last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruna.

Bowie’s impact at Verona was immediate: he scored four goals and provided one assist in 14 league appearances, showcasing his pace and clinical finishing. The Scotland international is eager to remain in the Italian top flight, and Sassuolo ready to win Bowie transfer battle with Cagliari Bologna and Celtic appears to align with his ambitions. Hellas Verona are open to selling as they rebuild for their return to Serie B, making a transfer likely in this window.

Cagliari and Bologna have also expressed interest, but Sassuolo’s proactive approach, including player-exchange options, gives them an edge. Celtic, Bowie’s former club in Scotland, have been monitoring the situation, but the player’s preference to stay in Italy tilts the scales toward Sassuolo. The Neroverdi, currently competing in Serie A, view Bowie as a key investment for both the present and future.

The deal’s structure could include a loan-back clause for the remainder of the season, allowing Bowie to help Verona in their promotion push. However, Sassuolo ready to win Bowie transfer battle with Cagliari Bologna and Celtic and are pushing for an immediate transfer to bolster their attack. With the Tuesday meeting looming, the outcome is expected to be decided within days.

This transfer saga highlights the competitive nature of the Italian market for emerging talent. Bowie’s rise from Hibernian to Serie A has been meteoric, and his next step could define his career. For Sassuolo, securing his signature would represent a statement of intent as they aim to solidify their place in the top half of the table.

In conclusion, the race for Kieron Bowie is reaching its climax, with Sassuolo holding the strongest cards. The potential inclusion of Samuele Mulattieri could be the deciding factor, ensuring a swift resolution. All eyes will be on Tuesday’s meeting to see if Sassuolo can indeed win the battle against Cagliari, Bologna, and Celtic for one of Scotland’s brightest young stars.
