Torino Close on Perri as Leeds Seal Trafford Deal, Goalkeeper’s Exit Imminent

FolioPitch.com – 06 August 2026 | It’s been a week of transfer drama in the world of football, and the latest development has seen Torino close in on the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri. The deal, which had been held up due to Leeds United‘s search for a replacement, is now set to be finalized with the arrival of James Trafford from Manchester City.

The signing of Trafford, who has completed his medical and is expected to join Leeds on a club-record deal, has been the key to unlocking Perri’s exit from Elland Road. The Brazilian goalkeeper, who was identified as Torino’s first choice between the posts, had been stuck in limbo while Leeds searched for a replacement.

Perri, who joined Leeds from Lyon last summer, had a difficult debut campaign in England, losing his place under Daniel Farke. However, with Trafford’s arrival, Perri is now poised for a fresh start in Serie A, where he is set to become Torino’s undisputed number one.

The deal is structured as a loan with an option to buy, with reports suggesting that Torino have been waiting for the green light from Leeds to finalize the transfer. With Trafford’s medical now out of the way, it’s expected that Perri’s exit will be confirmed in the coming days.

For Perri, this move represents a new chapter in his career, one that he hopes will see him become a regular starter in Serie A. With his experience of playing in England and his technical ability, Perri is expected to make an instant impact in Torino’s goal.

Meanwhile, for Leeds, the arrival of Trafford represents a significant coup, one that could see them strengthen their goalkeeping options and reduce the workload on their current number one. With the season just around the corner, it’s clear that Leeds are looking to strengthen their squad and make a push for the top six.

As for Torino, the signing of Perri represents a major coup, one that could see them strengthen their goalkeeping options and make a push for European qualification. With Perri’s experience of playing in England and his technical ability, he is expected to make an instant impact in Torino’s goal.

Overall, the transfer of Perri to Torino is a significant one, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out in the coming weeks and months. With both clubs looking to strengthen their squads, it’s clear that this deal is a major coup for both parties involved.
